본문 : 시편 130:1-8

본시는 매우 심오한 시입니다. 죄와 고통과 참회와 사유에 대한 확신의 소망을 담고 있는 이 시는 바울의 신학사상이 압축된 신약적인 시라는 감탄의 소리까지 있습니다.
본시는 그리스도의 속죄에 근거한 은혜 구원에 대해 구약에서 가장 잘 설명한 것 중의 하나 입니다.

1. 깊은 곳에서의 절규
1절의 깊은 곳은 심각한 위험과 고통을 의미합니다. 본시에서 시인을 괴롭힌 고통은 죄입니다. 3절에서 죄를 말한 시인은 4절에서 용서를 말하고, 7-8절에서 속량을 선언합니다. 죄의 무게 아래서 울부짖으며 깊은 수렁에서 구원해 달라고 애소하는 시인은 자비와 사하심이 전적으로 하나님께 있음을 고백합니다.

2. 사유하심이 주께 있음을
하나님 안에 사유하심이 있다는 것은 복음입니다. 하나님의 용서에 관해서 우리는 다음의 4가지를 생각할 수 있습니다.
① 하나님의 사유하심은 포괄적이다
② 하나님의 사유하심이 현재 있다
③ 하나님의 사유하심은 그것을 원하는 사람에게 있다
④ 하나님의 사유하심은 경건한 삶으로 인도 한다

3. 내 영혼이 여호와를 기다리며
시인은 하나님의 말씀을 믿고 여호와를 기다린다고 말합니다. 시인이 기다린 것은 용서가 아니었습니다. 그는 이미 사유하심이 하나님께 있음을 알았기에 하나님 자신을 기다렸습니다. 자기 죄로 인해 공격 받으신 하나님을 찾고, 하나님과의 깨진 관계가 회복되기를 기다린 것입니다. 하나님은 이미 그의 죄를 사유하셨기 때문에 하나님과 가까운 교제를 원하여 그것을 믿음으로 기다렸습니다.

4. 하나님을 신뢰하라
진리는 한 사람에게만 독점되어서는 안 되며 더구나 구원의 복음은 한 곳에만 머물러서는 안 됩니다. 그래서 시인은 자신의 이러한 신앙을 널리 공개하고 크게 선포합니다. 지금까지 시인은 죄에 대한 슬픔, 회개, 기도, 신앙 그리고 하나님께 대한 소망을 자신에게만 집중하였습니다. 그러나 마지막 연에 와서는 그것들은 이스라엘에로 돌이키며 하나님의 사랑과 완전 구원을 주시는 하나님께 소망을 갖도록 격려합니다.

사랑하는 성도 여러분,
위대한 진리를 혼자만 알고 침묵하는 것은 죄입니다. 하나님의 사유하심과 죄로부터 구원하시는 하나님을 열방에 선포 하시는 하나님의 신실한 백성들이 되시기를 주님의 이름으로 간절히 소원합니다.



When I cry out to You from the depths
(Psalm 130:1-8)

Psalm 130 is a very profound Psalm. This Psalm, which hopes for the conviction of sin, suffering, repentance, and forgiveness represents an admiration for what a New Testament Psalm would have looked like had it been pressed upon by the Apostle Paul's thinking. It is also one of the very best explanations in the Old Testament of the gracious salvation that we have in Christ, grounded upon his work of redemption.

1. Screaming out from the depths
The "depths" in v. 1 refers to the grave danger of suffering. The suffering that bothered the psalmist of this Psalm was a particular sin. The Psalmist who refers to sin in v. 3, refers to forgiveness in v. 4, and declares redemption in vv. 7-8. The psalmist, who cries out from under the heavy burden of sin and begs to be saved from the deep mire, confesses that mercy and forgiveness are completely dependent on God.

2. There is forgiveness with God
The fact that forgiveness is found in God means the Gospel. We can consider the following four points of forgiveness:
(1) God's forgiveness is inducive.
(2) God's forgiveness is for now.
(3) God's forgiveness is for those who want it
(4) God's forgiveness leads to pious living

3. My soul waits for the Lord
The psalmist says that he believes in God's word, and waits for the Lord. What he waits for is not forgiveness. Since he knew that there was already forgiveness with God, he was now waiting for God. Since it was his sin which assaulted God in the first place, he looked to God and waited for Him to restore the broken relationship. Because God had already forgiven his sin, he wanted to have a close relationship with God, and he waited for it with faith.

4. Trust in God
The truth must not be monopolized by any one person. Moreover, the gospel of salvation must not remain in one place. Thus, we see the psalmist throw open his own faith to the public and proclaim it with fervor. Up until this point, the psalmist has concentrated on his own sorrow, repentance, prayer, and faith regarding sin and hope in God. But now, these final verses focus on Israel and encourage the people to put their hope in God who gives them unfailing love and complete salvation.

A person who knows these great truths and falls silent commits a sin. By proclaiming to the world that God is the One who can forgive us and save us from our sins, I earnestly pray that all of you will become God's faithful people.
