본문 : 시편 119:97-104

시인은“내가 주의 법을 어찌 그리 사랑하는지요”(97절)라고 하며 말씀을 사랑하는 자신의 마음을 고백합니다.

1.하나님의 법을 사랑하는 이유 5가지
① 하나님의 말씀은 위로부터 오는 지혜의 근본이기 때문에(98-100절)
성경은 학식을 자랑하는 스승보다 지혜롭고, 세상 경험이 많은 노인보다 지혜롭습니다. 하나님의 말씀 안에는 원수를 이기는 비결이 들어있고, 금보다 귀한 지혜가 있습니다. 주의 계명들, 주의 증거들,
주의 법도들은 우리를 더욱 지혜롭고, 더욱 통찰력 있게 하고, 더욱 명철하게 합니다.
② 하나님의 말씀은 의의 길로 인도하기 때문에(101절)
주의 말씀은 우리로 하여금 악한 길로 가지 않도록 합니다. 하나님의 법은 우리에게 옳은 길을 보여주며 그 길로 인도합니다.
③ 하나님은 스승이 되시므로(102절)
시인은 성경을 연구할 때 다른 사람의 말을 들은 것이 아니라 계시로 기록된 하나님의 말씀 안에서 하나님의 음성을 들었습니다.
④ 하나님의 말씀은 꿀보다 더 달기 때문에(103절)
말씀은 심령을 기쁘게 하며 동시에 그 말씀을 지키는 자의 생활을 복되게 합니다.
⑤ 하나님의 말씀으로 인해 모든 거짓 행위를 미워하게 됨으로(104절)
그리스도인의 삶이 항상 좋은 날만 있는 것은 아닙니다. 더할 수 없이 아름답고 즐거운 날이 있는가 하면 쓰리고 어둡고 추한 날을 살기도 합니다. 그럼에도 불구하고 성도는 항상 하나님의 말씀 안에서 살아야 합니다. 시인은 주의 법을 사랑한다고 했고(97절), 모든 거짓 행위를 미워한다(104절)고 했습니다. 악이 무엇인지 모르면 선을 배울 수 없습니다. 거짓을 미워하는 것은 우리가 하나님을 사랑한다는 증거입니다.

2. 말씀을 사랑하는 성도의 생활
성도는 하나님 말씀을 사랑하는 만큼 그것을 계속적으로 묵상해야 합니다(97절). 사랑하는 자의 마음은 그 대상에게 점령되는 법입니다.
진실한 성도는 하나님의 말씀을 이론적으로만 접촉하지 않고 온 인격을 기울여 관계합니다. 하나님의 말씀에 대하여 항상 함께 하기를 힘쓰고, 늘 읊조리고 묵상하며 지키려고 애씁니다.

사랑하는 성도 여러분,
당신은 성경에 대해 얼마나 관심을 가지고 있습니까? 성경에 대하여 큰 매력도 느끼지 못하고 읽기도 귀찮아한다면 죄로부터 또한 추한 세상으로부터의 공격을 피할 수 없을 것입니다.
하나님의 말씀을 읽고, 연구하고, 배우고, 묵상하며 말씀 위에 집을 세우는 하나님의 백성들이 되시기를 주님의 이름으로 간절히 소원합니다.


God’s lovely words
(Psalms 119:97-104)

The psalmist who loves God’s word confesses to himself in verse 97,“ Oh, how I love your law.”

1. Five reasons to love God’s law
(1) Because God’s word is the beginning of wisdom inherited from heaven (vv. 98-100).
The Bible is wiser than teachers who are proud of their knowledge, and wiser than old men taught by worldly experience.
There are mysteries on how to defeat enemies, and wisdom more precious than gold in God’s word. The Lord’s commands, His testimonies, and His law make us wiser, more penetrating, and more intelligent.
(2) Because God’s word leads us to the righteous path (v. 101).
God’s word helps us avoid the evil path. God’s law demonstrates the right path and leads us to it.
(3) Because God is our teacher (v. 102).
Whenever the psalmist studies the Bible, he does not listen to men’s voice but God’s voice which is found in His word written by revelation.
(4) Because God’s word is sweeter than honey (v. 103).
God’s word makes our hearts happy, when it blesses those who keep His word in their lives.
(5) Because we grow to hate every wrong path we take through God’s word(v.104).
Christian life is not always happy. The more we experience happy and beautiful lives, the more we also experience bitter, dark, and unhappy days.
Nevertheless, Christians should live in God’s word. The psalmist says, “Oh, I love your law”(97), “He hates every wrong path”(v.104). If we cannot distinguish ‘good’from ‘evil’, we cannot learn the meaning of ‘goodness.’
The fact that we hate the wrong path verifies that we love God.

2. The lives of Christians who love God’s word
Christians must continually meditate on God’s word in as much as they love His word (v. 97). It is no wonder that the lover’s heart is seized by the one loved.
Faithful Christians do not only come into contact with God’s word theoretically but also relate to it with their whole person. They always try to be with it, recite it, meditate on it, and keep it as His word.

My beloved Christians!
How concerned are you with the Bible? If you are not very fascinated with the Bible, and are negligent in reading it, you will not prevent the attacks from the sins and impurity of the world. By reading, studying, learning, and meditating on God’s word, I earnestly pray that we will all become God’s people who build our house on the firm foundation of God’s word in the name of Jesus Christ.
